Anka Ahalya discovered art and yoga in childhood—a journey that has taken her from the rural Eastern Europe to New York’s galleries, to ashrams in India, through himalayan paths, to disciplined beauty of Japan.
With 20 years of practice in both fields, and a background in fine arts and science, she created a nature-based space dedicated to art, yoga, and meditation, and offers classes. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts with both a BFA and MFA, she teaches drawing, painting, and sculpture integrated with yoga and meditation and set within the broader context of world and art history, geography, and science. She brings experiences from different cultures, landscapes, and traditions to her teaching. Now based in Costa Rica, she continues her yogic journey, makes art, leads design projects, and teaches both children and adults, allowing nature to shape her days.
